Central ChristianHigherof Kansas chapter, Alpha Sigma Iota (ASI), consists of students who: 1) rank in the top 35% of unshortened student soul based on cumulative GPA; 2) maintain a 3.0 GPA in their English courses; and 3) well-constructed at least two English courses vastitude the required English Composition courses. The purposes of this society are to facilitate wonk and professional growth through participating in rewarding activities such as fundraisers, outings, service projects, open-mic readings, competitions, and workshops. Through fostering the willpower of creative and hair-trigger thinking, ASI moreover hopes to promote interest in literature and to promote a largest understanding of the English language on our campus and in our surrounding community. Flying Tigers Contact Person:  Dr. Robin Jackson Meetings are held on a monthly understructure with featured speakers from the world of aviation. There are many scheduled field trips to aviation museums; airports; FAA sites and flight safety; simulators for "flying experience"; and air shows that are in the grographical region of the college. The club enjoys dinner together on a monthly basis, with a Christmas party and an end of the year hamburger fry. The club works with the Education Department to help create future teachers and help those stay unfluctuating to their own education. Multicultural Student Associations (MSA) Contact Person:  Hatsue Aizawa Established in October of 2017, the mission of the MSA is to help unite global citizens with variegated cultures, backgrounds and ideas to grow together as one.  They have many activities and events including Multicultural Awareness (Diversity) Week, sampling supplies from variegated countries, an venture tour in Wichita with a meal at an ethnic restaurant and movie nights.   Membership is unshut to students, Faculty/Staff and anyone associated with Central Christian College. CHUMS Contact Person:  Cathy Brown Students at Central who are interested in helping elementary students with their math, reading, and science studies are invited to join CHUMS. This organization connects struggling students with caring higher mentors in an education partnership that fosters positive relationships and educational success. Volunteers meet with elementary students surpassing or without school to provide tutoring, guidance, and a listening ear to young students at local schools; moreover our higher students will receive a small stipend for their time investment. Phi Beta Lambda Contact Person:  Dr. David Ferrell The Central ChristianHigherinstallment of Phi Beta Lambda exists to serve as a vital link between education and wits by providing opportunities to develop merchantry skills necessary for success in all aspects of life and ministry. PBL is organized on local, state and national levels.Merchantryteachers/advisers and newsy councils (including school officials, merchantry people and polity representatives) guide local chapters. Central’s counselor is Professor Heath Whitehouse. State tutors and committee members coordinate installment activities for the national organization. Every year a group of PBL students from Central compete at the state level. Testing covers numerous fields of business. Usually we bring home 30-40 awards. You can see our awards hanging on a wall in theMerchantryDepartment next to the Archer Center in the RBC building. Each year, the weightier and brightest of PBL convene in a national priming to compete in leadership events, share their successes and learn new ideas well-nigh shaping their career future. These four-day sessions are considered the pinnacle of the PBL experience. Central has had nine students participate in Nationals, and scrutinizingly every student has placed in the top 10 Nationally in their events. Traditionally merchantry majors are most eager to join PBL, but there are opportunities for pre-law, sports management and liaison majors as well. PBL is a fantastic opportunity for students trying to decide if merchantry is the right undertow for them. Also, it is unconfined for merchantry students and others to reinforce their chosen undertow and to learn and play with peers of worldwide interests and goals. The Central installment of PBL would like to welcome all current members and everyone interested in joining to shepherd one of our monthly meetings. Our mission is to encourage and recognize superior scholarship in social science disciplines and to foster cooperation and social service among its members. Pi Gamma Mu serves the various social science disciplines which seek to understand and explain human policies and social relationships as well as their related problems and issues. Our Kappa installment at Central ChristianHigheris one among 150 zippy chapters in the United States and overseas. We were chartered in 2009 with faculty, former graduates, graduate students, and current students alike. Pi Gamma Mu's constitution defines the social sciences to include the disciplines of history, political science, sociology, anthropology, economics, psychology, international relations, criminal justice, social work, social philosophy, history of education, and cultural/human geography. Membership is moreover extended to interdisciplinary social science areas that build on the cadre social science disciplines, such as merchantry and society, education, minority studies, public administration, international studies, public finance, leadership studies, consumer behavior, public policy and organizational behavior.   Science Club Contact Person:  Mike Craig Science Club is designed primarily for those majoring in, or with a concentration in science, though anyone is welcome to participate. Monthly meetings and activities serve to foster cohesiveness and a sense of worldwide purpose among those majoring in science. Opportunities include guest speakers, field trips, peekaboo conferences, and a variety of other heady activities. Leadership opportunities are misogynist by serving as an officer.
